Residential Program

Grove School’s residential program provides a nurturing environment where structure, safety, and care converge for each student. Within the residential space, students embark on a journey of self-discovery while learning to navigate their roles within a larger communal setting and building both intrapersonal and interpersonal skills.  

Each Grove School dormitory accommodates six to ten students and two dedicated dorm staff. Rooms are arranged as doubles and triples. Dorm staff support the autonomy and personal expression of the students in their care, encouraging students to organize their own rooms and add personal touches to create a space that reflects their individuality.  

Central to our residential experience is the communal lounge that serves as a hub for socialization and relaxation. Equipped with amenities such as cable television, telephone, refrigerator, and microwave, each lounge fosters a sense of camaraderie and belonging for students. Internet access is available during specified hours, ensuring connectivity and access to resources essential for both academic and personal growth.  

Under the guidance of our dedicated residential staff, students receive round-the-clock supervision and support. Weekly dorm meetings reinforce a sense of community and foster healthy, productive interactions among students and staff.

At the heart of our approach lies the Educateur Model, which integrates residential life, counseling, and academic support to create a nurturing familial atmosphere. Grove staff encourage the gradual independence of the students in their care, empowering them to accept increasing levels of responsibility and paving the path for self-reliance and autonomy. Through formal instruction and informal guidance, our staff build vital life skills for our students, promoting both individual growth and community engagement.

Grove’s program operates year-round, with scheduled vacation periods and opportunities for home visits, facilitating ongoing family involvement and support. By fostering a culture of accountability, responsibility, and self-advocacy, Grove empowers students to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and resilience, preparing them for a successful transition to independent adulthood.
